 As a student in the Integrated Programme (IP), I have been challenged to think critically, pursue intellectual curiosity, and develop a well-rounded skill set across academics, leadership, and innovation. The school’s emphasis on holistic education has provided me with opportunities to engage in diverse projects, collaborate with peers, and grow both personally and academically. I am also currently serving as the Discipline IC of the Infocomm Club to ensure the CCA is disciplined and effective

During my time at Temasek Secondary, I was fortunate to engage in a range of opportunities that helped me grow as a leader. As a Student Councillor EXCO Trainee, I developed skills in teamwork, responsibility, and event management. Participating in programmes such as the Temasek Ignis Programme and competitions like the Singapore Mathematical Olympiad challenged me to push my limits and think critically. These experiences, along with being recognized with the Outstanding Student Award, shaped me into a confident, driven, and well-rounded individual ready to take on new challenges.

2021-2022

Mount View Primary

Key achievements:

  • Deaf Facility and Inclusion Captain

  • Team Captain of School Australian Football Team

During my time at Mount View Primary, I embraced opportunities that helped me develop leadership and teamwork skills from a young age. Serving as the Deaf Facility and Inclusion Captain allowed me to advocate for inclusivity and support my peers, while leading the school’s Australian Football Team as Team Captain taught me the value of collaboration, perseverance, and guiding a team toward shared goals. These early experiences laid the foundation for my growth as a confident and responsible leader.

Afzal quickly familiarised himself with the workflow and integrated smoothly into the team despite a fast-paced and heavy workload.
He identified a key bottleneck in manual evaluation processes and used his knowledge of Python to automate and streamline them.
His work reduced days of manual effort into an efficient, error-minimised workflow and significantly improved team efficiency.
